I’m not sure how many days it’s been since I’ve last posted on Bobber. But I can tell you today we are much better buddies.

Bobber likes his treats. He lets me pet him after he’s had several treats. As a matter of fact, he just let me pet him now without a treat at all!

Bobber and I seem to have the same temperament. We enjoy each others company, but also like our space.

I don’t force myself on Bobber. But I do try to coax him. Not too hard. But I try. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it takes a little more. But I’ll never force Bobber into doing anything he doesn’t want to do.

He doesn’t hide anymore. He’s out with me all the time. He’s let me pet him with no treats involved, but he’s still easily startled. He jumps every time I move. So I try to make my movements a little slower so as not to rattle him. I think once he’s used to my …. habits, he won’t be so jumpy. It’s just me and him here, which makes it pretty quiet most of the time.

But by golly if he didn’t come out of hiding just as my company was getting ready to leave one day. It was like he just jumped out from under the bed and said, “tadaaa!”. I wish I was camera ready for that. 😆

Today is a totally new day and we crossed a major hurdle. Bobber came and laid with me in my bed! At my feet, which is totally fine. I get it. ChatGPT told me that will be his first move before cuddling. He’s testing the waters.

We’ve been fighting over the recliner for a couple of days now. As soon as I get up to do something he steals my spot.

He’s also found himself a toy to play with that he is obsessed with. It’s a hair binder 😂. He picks it up with his paw and throws it in the air! It’s been keeping him well entertained for a few days now.

I finally got him registered with my apartment. I had to call for help on that because I couldn’t figure out the site. But the management company was very nice and helped me get him registered.

All in all, Bobber and I are bonding more and more each day and I absolutely love it.
